Meet QUARTZ.

QUARTZ puts a 1980s digital quartz watch on your wrist. A wide LCD window with crisp seven-segment digits, the unlit "ghost" segments still faintly visible behind every number, mode labels printed around the bezel and the classic red accent line above the display. It looks like the watch you wanted as a kid, and it knows everything your Garmin knows.

The top row shows the weekday in segment letters, the date, and three little LCD indicators for alarm, phone connection and notifications that light up when they are active. Below it sits the big time with seconds in smaller digits and an A/P marker in 12-hour mode. A 20-segment bar fills up as you walk toward your step goal, and a separate three-field strip shows steps, heart rate and battery. Two more values, temperature and the next sunrise or sunset by default, are printed on the bezel above the display.

Pick one of six LCD themes: classic grey-green, gold, negative black, amber backlight, night-light blue or red. Every digit is drawn as vector segments in code, so it stays sharp on every screen size. In always-on mode the panel turns black and only the time and date stay lit, with no seconds and no ghost segments, so the AMOLED screen is easy on the battery.

All five data fields are yours to choose in the Connect IQ app: heart rate, steps, battery, calories, distance, floors, weekly active minutes, Body Battery, stress, temperature, next sunrise/sunset, altitude or notifications. You can also set the time format, the leading zero, the date order and whether the ghost segments show.
